The Security State Bank debit card is an enhanced version of the SSB ATM card. In addition to ATM use, it can be used in place of writing a check or using a credit card to purchase products and services from more than 18 million MasterCard merchants displaying the MasterCard logo.
At an ATM, the debit card works just like an ATM card. Use your PIN to access your account. When using the debit card to purchase products and services, the merchant looks for the MasterCard logo and processes the transaction in the same way a credit card transaction is processed. You are required to sign the receipt. The difference is that the dollar amount of the purchase is deducted from your checking account.
Yes, you may select a new PIN after receiving the card.
You will receive a receipt from either the ATM or the merchant. The cardholder should record the amount in his or her checkbook register and retain the receipt. The checking account statement will list the amount and the ATM or merchant location.
When the card is used to make a purchase, it can only access funds from the cardholder's primary checking account. When it is used at an ATM, the cardholder can access either his or her checking or savings account.
